Villefranche-du-Perigord is a medieval, historic, bastide village. It has a wealth of shops including 2 bakeries 2 butchers and 3 foodstores. There is hardware, english newspapers and, in season, 3 restaurants/bars. All within 5 minutes stroll. The village has tennis courts, a boule court, a swimming pool and even a cinema with some english language films. The village dates back to the 13th century and has many interesting features. The region is dotted with towns, villages and bastides. Particularly well known are Monpazier, Domme, Sarlat, Bergerac, and Cahor.
